Santorini
Santorini is one of the most romantic places on Earth and the most popular island of the Cyclades islands. Its most known characteristic is the geological structure, which is the result of a distinguished volcano’s activity. More specifically, in the 16th century B.C., one of the most powerful explosions took place and led to the flood of some of the island’s parts and thus, to the creation of a volcano crater.
Many scientists identify the island of Santorini as the ancient and famous Atlantis. Santorini has a very steep shore in the west and numerous beaches (with pebbles and sand) in the east. The Marina is situated in Athinio bay. From there, you can reach the Administrative center of Santorini called Fera (or Fira). There, you can take long and pleasant walks, you can ride a cute donkey or you can use the cable car.
The city itself is very picturesque. It’s very easy to get lost there, between the alleys and the arches. The history and art lovers are encouraged to visit the local museums at once.
Tourists are also very impressed by the ‘’black’’ islands called ‘’the Camenes’’, the new and the old ‘’Camena’’.
